About Kirsty Duncan
Dr. Kirsty Duncan is the Member of Parliament for the riding of Etobicoke North and has been serving the community since 2008. She is currently Deputy House Leader of the Government. Born and raised in Etobicoke, serving her constituents has been the greatest honor of her life. She has worked with thousands in her community to address their concerns and overcome challenges.

In Ottawa, she continues to fight hard for financial support for families, educational opportunities for students and working people, retirement benefits for seniors, affordable housing, a strong healthcare system and a cleaner environment.

Prior to entering politics, Kirsty was an associate professor of health studies at the University of Toronto Scarborough, and an associate professor of geography at the University of Windsor. She holds a doctorate in geography from the University of Edinburgh.

Kirsty is internationally recognized as a leading expert in pandemic influenza, climate change and its impact on human health. She served on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, an organization that was jointly awarded the 2007 Nobel Prize.

She is passionate about building a thriving community in Etobicoke North and regularly supports programs that provide food, shelter, and education to Toronto’s youth. As a strong member of the Liberal Government, Kirsty is a trusted advocate for the middle class who will never stop working to build a better future for families in Etobicoke North.
