Launch of the Employment Strategy for Canadians with Disabilities

The Employment Strategy for Canadians with Disabilities is the Government of Canada’s first ever comprehensive plan to help address persistent and long-standing labour market barriers faced by persons with disabilities. It builds on recent actions, including the passing of the Accessible Canada Act in 2019 and the release of the Disability Inclusion Action Plan in 2022. The Employment Strategy is a commitment to breaking down barriers, dispelling stereotypes, and building a more inclusive and prosperous country. It aims to close the employment gap between persons with disabilities and those without by 2040, through a range of measures organized around three goals. They are:
